The Beverly Hills Diet plan was founded by Judy Mazel, an actress.

The plan maintains that the dieter will lose 10 to 15 pounds in 35 days. There is no counting of calories or carbohydrate or fat grams.

The diet is based on natural enzymes found in foods and the way they combine with the digestive enzymes in the human digestive system.

The diet emphasizes the eating of food in proper combinations.

 


1. Fruit should be eaten alone because fruit contains the enzymes that can activate the metabolism to burn fat faster. For instance, papaya softens body fat, pineapple burns it off, and watermelon flushes it out of the body.

2. Never eat foods containing protein with a carbohydrate food. Combining a protein with a carbohydrate can destroy the enzymes which slow down the digestive process causing an increase in body fat.

The diet is a solution for those who have a few pounds to lose quickly.

How does the Beverly Hills Diet work:

The diet itself is very easy to follow.

For the first 10 days, only fruit is eaten.

During the first 10 days on the diet, exercise is not recommended because the caloric intake is so low.

On days 11 to 18 carbohydrates and butter are added. Best sources include: grains, beans, peas, corn, yams, whole wheat flour products, pasta, shredded wheat and rice.

Exercise is slowly reintroduced.

On days 19 to 35, protein foods are added including: meat, fish, poultry and milk products.

By day 35 the dieter has lost the excess weight and has learned how to eat a healthy, balanced diet.
