What is the Jenny Craig Diet?



The Jenny Craig Diet

The Jenny Craig diet is a program designed by Registered Dieticians. It teaches individuals how to eat all the foods they like but still maintain a healthy balance for optimal weight loss and good health. At Jenny Craig the goal is to help individuals learn not only how to lose weight, but how to effectively maintain the weight loss as well by instructing individuals how to make wise food choices and preparation.

If a Jenny Craig center is not within driving distance a home-plan is also available.

Each individual receives one-on-one support from a personal consultant. Either 20 minutes with the consultant at a Jenny Craig Center. Or a 15 minute phone call from home. A consultant is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

It is this consultant that determines the individualized plan for each client based on the age, height, current weight and gender of the individual.

A program for adolescents aged 13-17 is also available.





How the Jenny Craig diet works:

Individuals begin with preset meals determine by their consultant and supplied by Jenny Craig. The client may pick up the food at the center or have it shipped by Federal Express.

Personalized menus offer the individuals a large selection of pre-packaged and pre-portioned foods that are easy to prepare in microwave or traditional oven. A proper balance of vitamin and mineral supplements are included in the packaged menus.

This teaches the individuals the proper portions and types of food they should be eating to lose and then maintain their weight and health.

By the time the desired weight is achieved the individual will have learned how to properly prepare foods purchased at their local supermarket.

A guide for eating out at restaurants is included.

Exercise is encouraged for 30 minutes per day.

Weight issues are sometimes caused by stress and emotional problems. Individuals are taught strategies to handle these situations and not let these problems cause them to overeat.
