What is Weight Watchers?

Weight Watchers teaches healthy eating habits and exercise programs that the client can use to first lose weight and then maintain their weight and remain healthy for life.

Dieters feel motivated and never go hungry because the individuals choose what foods they like. There is no weighing of foods, no counting calories, grams, or carbohydrates. Dieters may purchase foods from their favorite supermarket. There are no special foods to buy with Weight Watchers.


How the Weight Watchers diet works:

The Weight Watchers diet works with FlexPoints or the new No Counting Plan. You choose the approach that fits you best.

With FlexPoints, each food item is given a number of Points. To begin the individual is assigned a Points target based on their weight. The determined amount of Weight Watchers Points is the number of Points the dieter will be allowed to eat each week.

Exercise is also given a Points value. These points can then be exchanged for more food.




Weekly meetings at a local Weight Watchers Center or online services are available.

Members can attend as many meetings as they desire for the one week fee. At the weekly meetings individuals receive a private weigh-in. Members learn from leaders about new program materials, talk with other members, and learn from other's mistakes and successes. The leaders are former members so they fully understand the challenge that the new individuals are facing.

Online services include Weight Watchers recipes, email newsletters and reminders. Members can stay connected with other members with message boards and chatrooms. I especially love Weight Watchers online. Great recipes, lots of help and support, neat progress charts, eat out guides and an easy way to keep track of your points during the day, if you decide to use the Flexpoints method.

The online services are especially helpful to those who cannot attend in-person meetings.

Members receive an At-Home Guidebook explaining the weight loss Flexpoints. A calculator, eating out guides, a subscription to Weight Watchers magazine, pedometer, walking guide, fitness training guide, and numerous other items.
